USHLI Scholarship: Open to undocumented students

The United States Hispanic Leadership Institute is a non-profit dedicated to empowering the Latino community by promoting education, leadership development, unity, and civic participation. Their Dr. Juan Andrade, Jr. Scholarship seeks to support students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree. Students attending or accepted to an accredited undergraduate four-year institution are eligible for a $1000 scholarship to be paid in two payments throughout the academic year. Students attending or accepted to an accredited undergraduate two-year institution are eligible for a $500 scholarship to be paid in one payment during the 2017-2018 academic year. Recipients will also receive a scholarship to attend the 35th National USHLI Conference in Chicago, IL.

Here are the eligibility requirements:

  • Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time student, in an accredited four-year or two-year institution in the U.S. or U.S. territories
  • Demonstrate a verifiable need for financial support
  • At least one parent must be of Hispanic ancestry.
  • Recipients must also be available to attend the 35th National USHLI Conference in Chicago, IL, February 16-19, 2017.

The deadline to apply is December 31, 2016
