The San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association recently announced this year’s scholarship. This opportunity is open to law students who have demonstrated community service and academic achievement. The scholarships typically range from $1,000 to $5,000. Note: Recipients are not limited to persons of a Latino/a background. Instead, the scholarships are awarded to law students from a variety of backgrounds who have contributed to advancing the Latino/a community.
Here are the eligibility requirements:
- Must have ties to San Diego or Imperial Counties
- Must be full-time law students who have completed their first or second year of law school and part-time students who have completed a sufficient number of units equivalent to the first year of law school
- Incoming first-year law students are not eligible
- Scholarship applicants must be enrolled in a J.D. program at an ABA accredited law school
The deadline to apply is September 9, 2016
