The Law Offices of Joshua L. Goldstein, P.C., an immigration law firm based in Los Angeles, California, is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a student with a strong personal connection to the immigrant community for the 2016-2017 school year. Note: Undocumented immigrants (with or without DACA) and students currently undergoing the green card application process are especially encouraged to apply.
Here are the eligibility requirements:
- Submit a completed application
- Be either a U.S.-born student whose parents are both from another country, or a foreign-born student who immigrated to the United States
- Currently enrolled in post-high school institution or graduate school
- Submit an original 450-word essay detailing why you or your parents immigrated to the United States and the challenges you or your family have had to overcome as a result
The deadline to apply is September 30, 2016
