
The Institute for Humane Societies (IHS) supports students and professors pursue their intellectual and career goals. Their vision is “for free speech, open inquiry, and intellectual diversity to flourish on college campuses; for all college students to have an opportunity to study and debate the ideas of a free society; and for a growing community of scholars to research and teach the principles and practice of freedom.”
The IHS recently announced their PhD Application Fee Waiver program, which provides awards of up to $300 to help students apply to graduate school programs.I contacted IHS earlier this fall semester and learned that this opportunity is open to undocumented students! This opportunity is available to undergraduates and recent graduates applying for full-time doctorate programs starting in the 2017-18 academic year. Here are a few additional requirements:
- Show a demonstrated interest in focusing your studies on individual liberties and economic freedom.
- Programs you are applying to should be in the humanities and social sciences.
- Programs that you are applying to must be in the U.S. to be eligible for the application reimbursement.
