The Isac Amaya Junior Scholarship is available to students in the state of Arizona who are attending or plan to attend a community college in Maricopa, Yuma, Pima and Cochise Counties. This is a $1,000 scholarship opportunity. There will be three scholarship recipients. Please note that “the scholarship is available for students who don’t qualify for financial aid due to their immigration status (DACAmented and undocumented students).”
Here are the scholarship requirements:
- “Students must be high school seniors or undergraduates at a community college in Maricopa, Yuma, and Pima Counties.
- Applicants must show proof of enrollment at the college they are attending, effective Fall 2018. Students must send proof of enrollment (copy of schedule, letter of acceptance or other document) to scholarships@isacamayafoundation.org after completing this application.
- Students must submit a 250 word essay explaining their financial need in part 4 of this application.
- Students must submit a 1 to 1.5 minute video in which they tell us how they would solve an issue affecting the world right now. Full instructions for the video are in section 5 of this application.
- Videos will be uploaded to the Isac Amaya Foundation’s Facebook page during the first three weeks of July. The person whose video has the most likes will win the scholarship.”
