Georgetown University is currently hiring an Associate Director to work directly with undocumented students and their families. The Associate Director would be responsible for “identifying and collaborating with on- and off- campus resources and partners to help undocumented students address and overcome obstacles to success and well-being.”
These are the requirements and qualifications for this job opportunity:
- “Master’s Degree in higher education, counseling, social work, or a related field
- 5 to 8 years of experience in higher education in a role that requires knowledge of the full range of university functions
- 5 to 8 years of experience managing complex projects, individual advising and student risk mitigation and/or crisis management; demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining effective collaborative relationships with individuals and organizations across functional units
- 3 to 5 years supporting underrepresented student development within higher education, demonstrated experience working with first-generation, low-income, racially and ethnically diverse student populations
- Demonstrated experience with coordination, planning and facilitation of social justice educational programming about topics related to immigration law, higher education, intersectionality, power, privilege and oppression across multiple identities (ie: immigration, race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class, disability)
- Strong understanding of financial resource management and advanced time management skills
- Strong evaluation and problem-solving skills, superior judgement and professional courtesy communicating across various groups
- Willingness to support evening/weekend programming and availability to travel and to work weekend and evening commitments.”
