Eligibility to apply for a 2023 Ford Foundation fellowship is limited to the following:
- Individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (Eligibility also includes individuals whose DACA status may have lapsed but who continue to meet all the USCIS guidelines for DACA.)
- Individuals granted Temporary Protected Status
- Asylees
- Refugees
Predoctoral Fellowship:
Open to: Individuals enrolled in an eligible research-based (dissertation-required) program leading to a Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree at a non-proprietary (not for profit) U.S. institution of higher education, and individuals who as of the 2023 fall semester require a minimum of three years of study to complete their Ph.D./Sc.D. degree.
Annual stipend: $27,000
Deadline: December 15, 2022, 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Dissertation Fellowship:
Open to: Individuals enrolled in an eligible research-based (dissertation-required) program leading to a Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree at a non-proprietary (not for profit) U.S. institution of higher education who will complete the dissertation in a period of 9–12 months during the 2023–2024 academic year, but no later than Fall 2024
Annual stipend: $28,000
Deadline: December 8, 2022, 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Open to: Individuals committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level, and individuals who have completed all the requirements for a Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree, including successful defense of the dissertation, no earlier than December 8, 2015 and no later than December 8, 2022 in an eligible research-based field from a U.S. institution of higher education
Annual stipend: $50,000
Deadline: December 8, 2022, 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST)
