Modeled after the Magis Scholarship at Loyola University Chicago, the Ellacuria Scholarship seeks to address the needs of undocumented students who demonstrate merit and financial need in pursuing a Marquette University education.
As we enter a time of great uncertainty for undocumented people in our country, we are writing to you with some hopeful news. The inaugural Dreamers Gala at Marquette University last March successfully raised over $20,000! And to build on this momentum, students and staff are busy planning this year’s Dreamers Gala to raise more much-needed funds for Marquette’s undocumented students.
Because of your generosity, two students received a notification at the beginning of this semester that they were the first recipients of the Ignacio Ellacuría, S.J., Dreamers Scholarship. The first recipient is a freshman and will receive a partial scholarship for each of the next four years. The second recipient is a senior who will graduate with honors in the spring.
To support our second annual Dreamers Gala at Marquette University which will take place on March 23, 2017, 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m, you can buy your tickets online. If you are unable to attend, but want to support, you can donate here. (Instructions: (1) Place amount; (2) Select Other; (3) Type “Ignacio Ellacuria S.J. Dreamers Scholarship”; (4) Add donation).
