This effort is a first-of-its kind space for undocumented and black folks to heal, organize and be empowered by each other. The Convening will create a safe space for black undocumented folks to develop acceptance, to own their stories and be active in creating change for our communities. It is the work of black and undocumented immigrants who feel and experience the urgency of addressing issues, such as police brutality and mass deportations, yet believe both movements fighting these issues are working in silos.

*Please note that because this convening is serving as the first-of-its-kind intentional safe space for black and undocumented folks, it will only be open to black and undocumented participants and black facilitators. However, during the convening, there will be a resource center for partnering organizations and allies who would like to share resources with attendees.

This event is taking place on January 15 – 17, 2016. Make sure to register to secure your spot: “The Undocumented and Black Convening
