ROCIO Film Scholarship for Undocumented Students

The producers of the documentary, “Rocio,” recently announced a scholarship opportunity open to undocumented students (with or without DACA). Each scholarship award is $1,000. The documentary features the experiences of Rocio, who was diagnosed with terminal kidney cancer, and whose son Dario took a leave of absence from Harvard to help take care of her. Here are the eligibility requirements for this scholarship opportunity:

  • “Must be a high school senior or in college
  • Must be currently undocumented or under DACA
  • Must watch ROCÍO, available at www.bit.ly/rocioprime

Here are the application documents required:

  • “One page resume
  • Current transcript
  • Photo of yourself watching the film or at ROCÍO Screening
  • Please attach your responses on a separate page:
    • 1. Why are you in school? Where do you see yourself next?
    • 2. What scene in ROCÍO resonated the most with you and why?
    • 3. Write about a moment in your life that you would like to see on film.
