MALDEF (Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund) is a national civil rights organization that strives to defend the rights of Latinos in the United States, and the constitutional rights of all people in the country. This year, MALDEF is offering scholarships that range from $2,000 to $10,000 for students going to law school who are interested in furthering civil rights for Latino communities in the United States through their legal careers. MALDEF’s scholarship program is open to undocumented students, with or without DACA or TPS!
Here are the eligibility requirements:
All students who are enrolled full-time at an accredited United States law school in the 2023-2024 academic school year and are completing their first law degree (i.e. J.D. degree).

- Career Plans Statement
- One Letter of Recommendation
- Law School transcripts
