The Undocumented Student Services (USS) program at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is currently hiring an Assistant Director who will work directly with undocumented students, and students from mixed-status families. The Assistant Director will in part assist in programming, supervising, and training, as well as co-lead research and evaluation efforts to better understand and address the needs of undocumented, mixed-status, and refugee student populations. The expected pay for this position ranges from $70,000 to $80,000/year.
Here are the required qualifications necessary for this position:
- “Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- 1-3 years Full-time relevant experience working confidently with undocumented students and their families in higher education, non-profit, or in a related setting.
- Demonstrated experience providing support and/or resource referral to address a student’s current need(s).
- Experience designing programs and/or curriculum for adult learners, undergraduate or graduate students, and/or professional staff.
- Experience in program management and event planning while practicing and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and writing skills.
- Evidence of potential to foster relationships and work in strong collaboration with students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.”
