The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) is currently accepting applications for its its annual Fall 2024 internship program that is open to current undergraduate students and recent graduates. This program provides interns with the opportunity to meet leaders and professionals working across various sectors, including nonprofits, businesses, and Capitol Hill. Interns also receive knowledge about the legislative process, networking opportunities, and more. Interns are placed with a congressional office and receive $3,750 in compensation for a fall internship placement or $3,125 for an internship over the summer. The program also includes “domestic round-trip transportation to Washington, D.C.; furnished housing (rent and utilities covered); academic credit; leadership training, networking, and more.” This opportunity is open to undocumented young adults with access to DACA. As per the program’s requirements: “individuals who are seeking consideration under the ‘Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival’ (DACA) policy must be eligible to work and possess valid employment authorization at the time of acceptance, and must maintain continuous lawful employment authorization for the duration of the program for which the person is applying.”

- Evidence of leadership skills and potential for leadership growth.
- Demonstrated commitment to public service-oriented activities.
- Superior analytical skills, outstanding oral and written communication skills.
