junior doctors

If you are planning to apply to medical schools and need to take the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), but are unable to pay for the test, you may be eligible to receive a fee waiver by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).

To qualify for a fee waiver, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident (LPR) of the United States (“Green Card” holder), or have been granted refugee/asylum or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.
  • In 2016, you will be granted fee assistance if each household reported on your application has a 2015 total family income that is 300 percent or less than the 2015 national poverty level for that family size.

Note: “You are limited to receiving fee assistance a maximum of five (5) times during your lifetime. Each award includes access to the Medical School Admission Requirements® website, the MCAT® exam, and AMCAS benefits. Your benefits will expire on December 31 of the calendar year after you receive your award, regardless of when in the year your application was approved.”
