The Inland Empire – Immigrant Youth Collective (IEIYC) is excited to co-host their third annual UndocuHealth Conference with the Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice (ICIJ)! The UndocuHealth Conference will provide a safe space for the immigrant community to receive holistic health services, learn about available resources, and build community through story sharing.
The theme this year is the intersection of health access and the implications that come with being undocumented. The goal is to connect the importance of being protected and prepared for interactions with law enforcement with the importance of making our physical and emotional health a priority as well.
Conference attendees will be able to participate in a variety of workshops and informational sessions that include Know Your Rights information, emergency family plans (including notarization of legal guardianship letters for children), VAWA (information for people who have been victims of violence/domestic abuse), healing talking circles, healing through yoga, and healthy eating and nutrition.
In addition to the workshops, medical students from the University of California, Riverside will be providing basic medical screenings for blood pressure, BMI, and blood sugar testing. Information and referrals to free and low-cost community clinics in Riverside and San Bernardino counties will also be provided.
Several community organizations will also be providing information about their services. FREE legal consultations with accredited professionals will also be available throughout the event. A light breakfast, lunch, and Spanish translation with be included for attendees. Families with children are welcome!
