The New York State Youth Leadership Council (NYSYLC) is accepting applications for this year’s scholarship opportunity to support students who are pursuing higher education. The NYSYLC is an undocumented youth led organization. Scholarship awards range from $500 to $1,000.
Here are the eligibility requirements:
“-Residing in NYC;
-Be a graduating high school senior, have a High School or GED/HSE/TASC™ diploma and planning to attend college in the Spring; OR current undergraduate student;
-Be actively engaged, or wishes to be engaged, in social justice causes;
-Be recommended by an educator, peer, community member, or faith leader;
-Be able to volunteer 40-80 hours with the NYSYLC throughout the summer;
-Be able to attend the awards ceremony in NYC (details TBD).”
The deadline to apply is May 17, 2019 at 5pm EST.
