Attend DreamZone to Learn about Working with Undocumented Students in New Mexico!

Hosted by the New Mexico Dream Team, “The DreamZone training is a four-day, two-hour professional development opportunity for understanding the undocumented student population and the issues that they face when attending an institution that they may have rules and regulations that exclude and under serve them. You will receive information and resources on how to help all our students regardless of immigration at your institution and in the community.” The training is both online and in person. This training is recommended for educators, practitioners, and community members in New Mexico, because they will discuss laws and policies specific to this state.

Days 1 and 2 of each session covers the foundations, which include anti-racism, gender, and sexuality.

Days 2 and 3 of each session covers immigration policies (national, statewide, and institutional), and best practices for supporting immigrant students.

Date and Time: November 15-18; 3-5PM

“As this training will be open for all institutions across New Mexico, all sessions will be completely hybrid or through zoom. Zoom links for folks joining virtually, and locations for folks joining in-person, will be sent out prior to the session you sign up for. All in-person locations will be at UNM Main Campus.”
