My Undocumented Life October 2024 Newsletter

With less than a month away from the 2024 U.S. presidential elections, our team is working hard to share important information and resources that can help undocumented students, their families, and allies navigate these uncertain and challenging times. In the coming weeks, we will be sharing a series of posts that pertain to concerns surrounding mental health, DACA, graduate school, and more. In the meantime, we encourage you to read and share the following resources.

New Research Report & Resource Pages:

The undocuBasic Needs Project (uBNP) is dedicated to helping understand and address the needs of undocumented college students, and those in mixed-status families, through research and resources. The uBNP recently released a research report drawing from 106 in-depth interviews with undocumented college students and those in mixed-status families across the country. The uBNP also published a series of resource pages as it pertains to their needs around foodlegal servicestransportationphysical healthmental healthcareer guidance, and grad school. Be sure to check out www.UndocuBasicNeeds.org & help spread the word!

Scholarships Open to Undocumented Students with Upcoming Deadlines:

[Deadline: October 31, 2024] Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship Program:Open to undocumented students pursuing their graduate study.

[Deadline: November 7, 2024] Spencer Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship: Open to undocumented students who have received their PhD, EdD, or equivalent degree between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2023.

[Deadline: November 14, 2024] Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship:Open to undocumented high school students.

[Multiple deadlines] College Board BigFuture Scholarships:Open to undocumented high school students.

Advance Parole Program Opportunities:

[Applications will close once spots are taken] Winter of Dreams 2024/2025 Study Abroad Program by ADAC: Open to DACA recipients.

  • Watch the UndocuGrads Virtual Workshop facilitated by 13 panelists who shared their experiences, advice, and resources.
  • Fee waivers are available for undocumented students with DACA who are unable to pay for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) (more info here).
