The undocuBasic Needs project (uBNP) seeks to help understand & address the basic needs of undocumented students, and those who are from a mixed-status family (where at least one member is undocumented). The uBNP conducted 106 interviews with students across the country to learn more about their educational experiences, and needs as it pertains to their food, housing, transportation, and much more.Based on these interviews, the uBNP recently released a research report you can download for free here. The uBNP also worked hard to identify and present trustworthy resources available to undocumented college students, and students from mixed-status families, as it pertains to their needs around food, legal services, transportation, physical health, mental health, career guidance, and grad school.
The uBNP team is currently in the process of conducting interviews with staff who work in the realm of undocumented student services or basic needs, if you’d like to learn more about this research opportunity and participate, you can visit this page.
