Isac Amaya Foundation Scholarship: Open to undocumented students from Arizona

cropped-iaf-banner-for-site3

In 2006, the state of Arizona passed Proposition 300, which bans undocumented students from receiving in-state tuition benefits or state financial aid. As a response, the Isac Amaya Foundation began to raise funds to offer scholarships to undocumented students who have to pay out-of-state tuition and are ineligible for government-funded scholarships.

Every year the Isac Amaya Foundation awards a $5,000 scholarship that is open to undocumented students from Arizona pursuing a graduate degree in AZ or elsewhere in the United States. This scholarship opportunity is open to all students, regardless of immigration status.

Eligibility requirements:

1. Students must have obtained their undergraduate degree in an Arizona University.

2. Students must show proof of acceptance into a graduate program in the United States.

3. Applicants must show proof of enrollment in their university, effective spring 2015. Students must send proof of enrollment to isacamayafoundation@gmail.com after completing online application (copy of schedule, letter of acceptance or other document). Please use the subject “Scholarship Application.”

4. Applicants must fill out this application.

The deadline to apply is December 31, 2015.
