  1. What are the requirements to apply for this?

    • Hi Manuel, great question. Here are the requirements:

At least 18 years of age by June 13, 2016.
      • An Interest and commitment to social justice.
      • Full-time availability from Monday, June 13, to Friday, August 19, 2016.
      • Available to travel on Sunday, June 12 to attend the orientation retreat hosted in
Los Angeles from Monday, June 13, to Friday, June 17, 2016.
      • Available to travel on Tuesday, August 16 to attend the closing retreat hosted in
Los Angeles from Wednesday, August 17, to Friday, August 19, 2016.
      • Submit online application form by 11:59 p.m PST, Friday, March 4, 2016.

Dream Summer is open to undocumented immigrant youth and allies. If undocumented, you do not need to have DACA (Dream Summer does not discriminate based on immigration status). College or University enrollment is also not required. Dream Summer also does NOT have a High School or a GED requirement. Participants must be 18 years old by June 13, 2016, in order to apply.

Also from their FAQs page: “Dream Summer generally admits youth applicants from the ages of 18 to 28. There are exceptions based on applicant circumstances. We highly encourage individuals who do not qualify for DACA to apply.” and “We recommend that you apply to a listed city or region ONLY if you live within comfortable traveling distance. The Dream Summer program and host organizations do NOT provide funding for transportation.”
