The Berkeley Interdisciplinary Migration Initiative at UC Berkeley invites applications for the 2023 Summer Institute in Migration Research Methods to be held from June 7- 15, 2023 at the University of California, Berkeley. The conference this year will focus on interviewing as a migration research methodology. In addition to discussing the potential and challenges of conducting interviews with immigrant communities, the institute “will also provide space for broader conversations on building a successful career as a migration researcher through professionalization panels and sharing of in-progress research.” They anticipate welcoming 22-26 participants.
Here are the eligibility requirements to participate:
- “advanced graduate students
- early-career researchers in government or not-for-profit research centers
- Post-docs
- beginning faculty within five years of their PhD or equivalent degree”
The deadline to apply to participate is March 1, 2023.
